This is insane.
Now the best lineup in baseball...
1. Granderson, CF
2. Polanco, 2B
3. Cabrera, 3B
4. Ordonez, RF
5. Sheffield, DH
6. Guillen, 1B
7. Renteria, SS

This is the biggest trade in my lifetime and maybe the biggest major league trade in five years.

While the Indians didn't get much for Cliff Lee, they did get one significant player in their 2008 trade of another Cy Young winner, C.C. Sabathia, Terry Plu...

I couldn't believe it when I flipped over to ESPNews to see if Omar Minaya had finally gotten around to shaking down Andy MacPhail for Erik Bedard when I saw this. Instantly, the Tigers become, IMO, the 1B American Leauge (probably all of baseball) team to the 1A defending champ Red Sox. What's really cool about this trade is that if somehow, the Red Sox end up with Santana, all Yankees fans will spontaneously combust and in the fiery aftermath, demand that Hank Steinbrenner trade some short season A-league bench warmer in a massive 6-team deal to get Vlad Guerrero, Albert Pujols, Tim Lincecum, Matt Kemp, Brian Roberts, and Prince Fielder.
The best part about the trade, though, is that following the Mets as well as the O's, I don't have to worry about seeing Dontrelle Willis on the mound or in the batter's box regularly anymore. That was good enough for me. God Bless Dave Dombrowski.
But, still trying to process last night's game, though hopefully my shock will turn to anger before this coming Sunday night. As Darth Sidious once said: "Now, unleash your anger and your journey to the Dark Side will be complete!" I'll be wearing my black jersey, black pants, black socks, black shoes, and a black ski-mask, and unleashing my anger. Hopefully, the Ravens will be too.
Hey Buddy, John Here. Good trade for both teams. Hopefully the Tigers cna sign Cabrera and Willis to long term deals before they slip away in free agency. The question now remains, What do the Tigers do with Brandon Inge? He signed a 4 year deal in 2006. There are a few teams that would probably take him, I would imagine the Phillies would be one. Congratualations on landing 2 great ball players. I hope Willis bounces back for you. Now my sox jsut need to land Santana without letting go of Ellsbury or Bucholz and we'll be set to battler the Tigers for American League dominance.
