I'm almost officially done with my semester. The research proposal - "Effect of Text-marking on Literary Analysis of 9th-Grade English Students" - will be turned in at the end of class. And then I'll go home and hope for a snow/ice day tomorrow - I could use the rest.
Not really into blogging lately.

Congratulations on the end of your semester. I finished tonight, as well. It's a good feeling.
I think it's time to end this blog for good (as much as I love reading it).
First off, you rarely write in it (it's been a week!) and when you do you just run through what you did all day.
Secondly, since you know many family members and students read it you know that you are unable to talk about anything too personal. I'm sure students read it before but they just weren't dumb enough to sign the guestbook! Since you know for sure that students read it now, it's best to just close this chapter and maybe start a new one that's a locked journal online or one on paper.
I love your blog and would miss it very much. I find "running through what you did all day" and your thoughts about your students, your lessons and what you do say about your personal life, always interesting, often funny, often moving.
I don't want to see you end it. I don't have time to read it as often as I'd like, and it's ok if you skip some days. I'm in Texas at an at-risk charter school, and I find it interesting to see what someone so far away -- also with an economically-challenged student population -- can do.
End it? Whatever. Keep writing, writing about writing, writing about teaching writing. I'm a writer myself and I love reading this blog. It's a pleasant reminder of when I fell in love with literature. Keep doing your thing.
I don't want to see him end it either, believe me, but if it were me... I would stop writing just because it's no longer anonymous.
