Guess who was invited today to see Cal Ripken's induction into the Hall of Fame, along with five of my players? I'm talking for free, complete with a bus leaving at 2:30 a.m. from Baltimore up to Cooperstown.
Guess who can't go, because he's going to be in Michigan for the week?
I thought about trying to rig something where I fly back to Baltimore in the middle of my visit to Michigan, for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, but it just doesn't seem financially feasible. I haven't talked with the donor yet, and hopefully he'll still let my players go, perhaps with my Assistant Coach.
Pretty cool, even if it doesn't look like it'll work out for me.

It's a shame you're going to miss this awesome opportunity! We're on a bus trip that leaves Friday morning. We've had the reservations since September and we're really looking forward to. This week has been great, with all of the excitement building. Why did they wait so long to contact you about this?
I'm not sure, and actually haven't heard from the actual donor yet - just an intermediary. They just called me Friday afternoon, and I returned the call Monday morning.
