You're reading the blog of a guy who hit a 3-run home run last night to beat a previously undefeated team. We went on to score a few more, and won 11-8. I believe it was the first over-the-fence homerun I have hit in my 25 years of playing baseball and softball. What a thrill, I admit.

Having a stress fracture makes me limp around and favor my foot a lot while playing softball, but it's also made me realize that I don't much use my lower body at all while hitting. Seriously - how else could I have hit a home run with a stress fracture otherwise? It's all my arms. I've got to fix this flaw in my swing sometime.

Tomorrow, I have a 6 a.m. flight to Chicago, where my parents will meet me at 2 p.m. for the White Sox / Tigers game, then drive me back to Michigan, where I'll be spending about a week. I guess that means I'll have to leave at 4 a.m. or something crazy like that to catch the flight, eh? I'm trying to decide whether to drive my car and park in longterm parking, or take a cab. The flight was only 98 bucks, so it would be a bummer to pay another $50-60 for parking or a cab, but 4 a.m. is just too early to ask someone to give me a ride. I come in at midnight, as well, so it's not like that's going to be much easier.

I'm picking up an 11-5 lunch shift today, so there's a chance I could get enough customers to totally offset the cost of longterm parking. But there's also a chance that I'll get one table and make $5.

Do they have SuperShuttles for the airport where you'll be leaving? I live in a suburb of Dallas and have found the SuperShuttle the best option here(cost-wise)since my city doesn't have taxi service and it costs a mint to use a cab. You do have to sacrifice a little time, as they make multiple pickups, and 4 AM is already quite early, though.
Too bad I didn't check the dates of your postings before I posted my comment. Oh, well . . .
