Triple

1. WTF, a "wintry mix" coming on Sunday? Does Mother Nature know that baseball season starts one week from today?

2. With that in mind, does anyone by any strange chance know of an indoor facility that I could borrow for myself and about 40 city kids from March 1-March 18 or so?

3. Last call for a Baltimore tip: moving boxes? Wells Liquor Store helped me out a bit, but not as much as I thought they would...

Re moving boxes - you might post a request on Baltimore freecycle. People are always trying to get rid of boxes.

I've been hitting the supermarkets for my boxes. The boxes that are used for cereal and paper goods are pretty good.

Also: call an office or two at North Avenue; they go through a lot of paper there. The paper cases are sturdy and a pretty handy size.

Depending upon when you need them, I have some boxes in my basement that I used when I moved that are not doing much of anything. Let me know, and they are yours.

Mark, I've got a bunch of boxes from the last time I've moved (June '03). They're broken down for easy transport -- all you need is duct tape and they should be good.

you could try the Wine Source for boxes, they always seem to have a lot of business, hence a lot of boxes. it could help your navigation skills through Hampden, too...

For boxes: auto parts stores (Salvo, Auto Zone, etc.) They are not as efficient at tearing them down as supermarkets.

Also Borders and Barnes & Nobles have been good.

Did you try asking the custodians at your school? Between cafeteria supplies, cleaning supplies and empty paper boxes, you should have more than enough. As Claude says, paper cases are the best - perfect size, easy to handle, easy to stack, and sometimes they even have cut-out carrying handles.

I have no boxes to offer, but I hope Mother Nature gives us good weather for opening day.

What kind of facility do you need?

Ask at your university's library for paper boxes. Xerox boxes make the best moving boxes. We pilfered large numbers of them from our library for weeks before moving.
