I got a message last night from dad saying they're overnighting in Cleveland and, from the looks of it, they'll be turning around in the morning. The roads were bad and supposed to worse in PA. However, this morning, I call them, and they're in the Pittsburgh area, motoring on ahead. That's good news. Hopefully they can still make it. They're still hedging their bets ("We might still have to turn around"), but I'm hopeful.
But back to cleaning and cooking. Cleaning before my parents visit than before house concerts, because I know that mom will look in my cupboards and say things like, "It looks like you're short on (cleaning supplies, soup, deodorant, dental floss, whatever). Need me to pick up any tomorrow?"
I also need to clean the guest room / basement, which hasn't been cleaned since the last time they were here. If they're in Pittsburgh, and the weather is bad, that probably give me until 2 or 3pm.

Nothing gets me to clean like proper motivation. Sounds like you've got that. I'm glad your folks are going to make it.
