I have had three comments from students this past week about my weight.
The first was a girl last week who, looking at my stomach, asked if I ate a lot. I ignored her, her friend hit her, and she said, "What? His belly's big" as if it was a perfectly acceptable thing to say.
When I was wearing my Charlie Brown costume on Monday, a kid asked me what the deal was with the shirt. I'm Charlie Brown, I said. "Uh, yeah, but the shirt's way too tight and you look like a hunchback."
Today, one of my ballplayers came up to me and rubbed my stomach, and playfully asked me if I was putting on some weight.
I actually have not put on any weight in the last few months, but I have definitely gotten softer. I feel like a marshmallow. I'm 3-for-3 in gym trips this week, though, and I think the additional comment today will make me go tonight for the second time today. I also need to buy some new shoes because these broken down tennis shoes just aren't cutting it anymore.

keep the source in mind :-)
adolescence does not = well-developed social skills.
also, marshmallows are really delicious.
My belly has gone soft too. Over the summer it was rock hard when I had more time to work out and play sports. Since the semester has started I've had time to do maybe 3 ab workouts. Ack.
