Well, my parents have done it now. Because of their cheapness, I have decided that I will go against their wishes and cook them Thanksgiving dinner. I went crazy at Trader Joe's today, and am about halfway ready. Not only do I not know how to cook turkey, I haven't eaten it since I went vegetarian in 1996. But I'll do my best; I only got a breast, so I think I can do it.
I'm excited. I hope one of the two ancient ovens in the house work.
And, by the way, I caved in. Heat's on.

Good for you! You will be fine. *G* And they might actually like it more than if you went out.
Oh, and some tips: bake your pies the night before, if you bought frozen; you can heat them up in the oven at 150 degrees while you're eating dinner. Frozen vegetables can be microwaved. Just follow directions on your turkey breast for cooking that... you'll do well!

Wow, um, shouldn't you be dead, then? :)
Oops! I'll edit it.
Did you get the pre-stuffed turkey breast? It;s really low maintenence, and yummy. Enjoy.
And there's always 1-800-BUTTERBALL or www.butterball.com for cooking tips even if you need help for smaller birds.
CGG: That's exactly what I got. Thanks for the tip!
Raeanne: The pies are actually already baked - a pumpkin cheesecake and some sort of chocolate mousse thing. But, thanks, you're the one who inspired it.
My parents are now saying there's going to be a blizzard from the midwest to the east coast from Wednesday to Sunday, so they might not come. Hopefully it's not all for naught!
Holden'll be hungry, won't he?
