My school's choir took a trip to Detroit over the weekend. This is what one student said upon return:
"I promise I'll never complain about Baltimore again! I was in Detroit this weekend and it's terrible. There were junkies everywhere. There were twice as many as here."
She then did an impression of a guy she saw in front of the Renaissance Center. I think I remember him.

Hi, just wanted to let you know I really enjoy your blog. I'm not a teacher in the city, but I have friends who are, so I get to hear a lot of first-hand accounts about how difficult and draining the experience is. Thanks for taking on a job that not many people would, because those of us who don't believe we could hang it really appreciate it.
